Treat bags have a variety of uses. You can use them for a candy or dessert buffet for a wedding, shower, or birthday party. You can also make treat bags to gift candies and baked goods to friends during the holidays. What is great about this DIY project is that these bags can be easily customized, depending on what you are using them for. This is a quick and easy project that will cost you very little.
What You Need:
-Brown Paper Lunch Bags
-Scallop Edge Scissors (or any scissors of your choosing)
-Stamps & Ink
-Hot Glue Gun
The brown bags I found for this project came in a pack of 40 at my local dollar store for only $1.00. Since I made these bags for my wedding, I found a stamp on clearance at my local craft store that says “To have and told hold from this day forward…”. I decided to use white ink for mine along with white ribbon to match the vintage chic feel of my wedding design.
Trim the top of each paper bag with scallop edge scissors to desired length. Use the first bag you trim as a template to cut the rest of the bags so they will be uniform. Next, use any stamp and color of ink to decorate the bags to match your theme. Then, cut some ribbon and form into a bow. Glue the ribbon onto the bag using a hot glue gun. It’s as easy as that!
You can also use white paper or glassine bags for this project. Choose your stamps, ink colors, and ribbon to match the event theme or holiday you are making them for. Happy crafting!
